Shawn Achor and other experts have established clear link between success and happiness. They believe it is happiness that fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient and productive at work. This is what the conclusion of a research in Positive Psychology and Neuroscience says.
“When looking for success and happiness, forget them, to find them.” - Unknown
Success is all we are obsessed with. Who does not want success? But why is that few get it. The answer is that those fortunate few know the natural laws of success, natural laws of attraction.
The thing that most of us do not accept is that success is only defined by our happiness. This is an issue more prevalent amongst youngsters. They are running behind success in order to be happy but reality is different from their perceptions. The major components of happiness are relationships (50%), health (25%) and well being and vice versa. A meta-analysis conducted on over 2, 75,000 people worldwide reveals that happiness was the cause not the result of success. Happiness leads to good relationships, sociability, social acceptance, popularity, health, high spirit of positivity, well being, community involvement and businesses. The studies show that happy sales people are more successful. Happy workers are more productive, less likely to take sick leaves, enjoy more job security and less chances of lay off. Therefore they are an asset. Also happy leaders infuse their teams with enthusiasm, motivation and higher levels of happiness, resulting in a higher performance and productivity!
