SELF BALANCE HARMONY

When it comes to self balance, it is the balance between our physical, mental and social aspects. Physical aspect is our body, a balance for which can be achieved by practicing yoga. Balance at the mental level is achieved through meditation and breathing exercises, while social balance here refers to maintaining relationships. Once the self balance is achieved, we have to create a harmony between what Aristotle termed as intermediate goals (goals of money, job, career, health, relationship) and the ultimate goal (happiness). These intermediate goals are not an end in themselves. They are for something further, and that something further is happiness. We come across people who are happy, who have learned to harmonize their intermediate goals. They have learned to prioritize health over money for their happiness. Happiness comes only when there is a harmony between our intermediate goals and the ultimate goal. The absence or disharmony of any of the intermediate goals will prevent us from achieving happiness.
