Understanding Meditation

Sri Sri Ravishankar beautifully describes meditation as - “Mind without agitation is meditation.
Mind in the present moment is meditation.
Mind that has no hesitation, no anticipation is meditation.
Mind that has come back to the source is meditation.
Mind that becomes ''No Mind'' is meditation.”


Meditation is a journey which begins from relaxing one’s body and ends at achieving our inner joy. In the practice of meditation, an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefits or as an end in itself.

Meditation for Beginners

Learning how to meditate is a process, be willing to learn it, start simple; do not be hard on yourself.
It might be difficult as a beginner to sit for a long duration with a thoughtless mind. Be patient, it comes with practice.
Be in a comfortable position with an accepting mind.
Unwind your mind - try to stop thinking, concentrate on your breath.
Listen to yourself and feel the generation of values of truth, peace, love, self discipline and happiness in you.
Always meditate at the right time and at the right place.
Meditate only if you want to. Do not force yourself.
